Every time you move a part of your body by itself it is called an isolation. I learned at an early age in dance classes how to isolate the movement of my chest, my hips, my legs, my arms, my neck and other parts of my body. Some people can not isolate the parts of their bodies, but I can and I am proud of it. It had helped me become a better dancer and gymnast when I was young and it helps me with yoga exercise as I have gotten older. I tend not to isolate myself mentally so being able to isolate pieces of my body gives me peace.
